Default Non-American Universities?

I'm choosing a university for engineering, and I was wondering if any of you have heard of the universities which I'm choosing from- Durham or Exeter. I'm in the UK, if that helps, so you would probably know Oxford and Cambridge, but do you know any other UK universities at all, and what sort of reputation do they have?

Plus can anyone tell me about Berkley, I may have the opportunity to study there for a year too. Thank-you!

elsie, what's your goal in asking? Are you considering grad school after engineering? Just curious. I know nothing about either, but I'm a typically narrow-minded provincial American.

durham>exeter

i think imperial has the best engineering reputation (as well as a very high reputation as a university itself)

I went to exeter university.
You might consider asking the guys at:
http://xnet.ex.ac.uk/forums/
any questions you might have. They will probably be more knowledgeable than me currently, and you'll probably find a few current/graduated engineering students there that can help you more than I can. (I studied comp sci)
