I used to play like that as well, hesitant to commit preflop. Long story short I think that folding KK to a re-raise (just one) is kind of a silly idea

If a the guy re-raising me is really loose, sometimes I'll call and see a flop. If the flop doesn't have an A (which it does 90% of the time), Q or J, I usually feel okay calling small bets and trying to get to a cheap showdown.
