Default KC Royals Owner \"We will be competitive this year\"

Linkage

Not a royals fan, but I hope they are. It would be good for the game. Also, he seems to inexplicably have tons of faith in Meche

In a related story, journalists discovered some of the exact same type of quotes coming from the owner of the Titanic, shortly before it set sail.

With Gil Meche, any team has a chance at WS title.

Why does he feel the need to state something so obvious?

On a similar note, I will win the Powerball lottery tomorrow. I also have a date with Reese Witherspoon tonight.

To quote Nice Guy Eddie:

If you [censored] beat this prick long enough, he'll tell you he started the goddamn Chicago fire, now that don't necessarily make it [censored] so.

Greg Gagne, former Royals SS extraordinaire, lives about 2 miles from my parents's house. He's got a pretty sweet glove statue at the head of his driveway.

Wasn't that Buddy Biancalana? Greg Gagne played for Minn?

I can't even envision a scenario where the Royals don't finish last.

Maybe if Mauer, Morneau and Santana all die. Maybe.

Gagne played for the Royals near the end of his career for probably 3 years or so.

Does anyone else think there is hope for the future for the Royals? They need some more pitching, but I'd expect their lineup to be pretty decent in a couple of years. Hopefully, Gordon makes a brief stop in Omaha this year so I can go watch him a time or two.
