[TV Game] LOL@ betting structure
Hi,
I have won a seat for a TV game, where the structure is so funny. We will start with 20k chips and the blinds are 500/1000, and they will grow up all the 4 or 5 hands So : 20k chips, 6 players, 4-5 hands by level 500/1000 (M = 13.33) 1000/2000 (M = 6.66) 2000/4000 (M = 3.33) 3000/6000 5000/10000 8000/16000 So, my strategy is so funny : don't play a hand during the two first levels (except monsters : PP, AT+). I will have almost 17k chips, then push ANY 2 IN THE DARK (blinds 2k/4k). Who like, who dislike ? Is it possible to use an other strategy : - play all the hands during the 2 first levels, to double up quickly ? - don't push any 2, but only suited connectors, PP, Ax, Kx, broadways ? ty for your advices |

Re: [TV Game] LOL@ betting structure
I guess they just want to be absolutely sure it will be over in 20 minutes. Good strategy, especially if it's a top 2 payout.

Re: [TV Game] LOL@ betting structure
If by any chance it folds to you on button or in SB, shove any two. Level 1 shove 55+, A9s, ATo from any position 1st to speak, or over any limper. Level 2 shove 44+, A8s, A9o, KQs from any position 1st to speak. Shove over a raise or call a shove with JJ+, AKo. Your aim is to double up before level 3. You will get one of the specified hand about one in 12 hands level 1, one in 14 level 2. So you have about a 35% chance of acting in level 1 and maybe 30% in level 2. So you will have a better than 60% chance of getting all your money in with a hand that is "probably" the best at the table.
If you've doubled up, you are still in pushbot mode, but you can afford to wait for a hand as good as those you played in level 1, and you should tighten your Bn/SB shove requirements because villains are going to be calling wiiiiiiide. Maybe 22+,Ax, Kxs, K9+,QJs. Level 4 you surely will be HU or out, so adjust Nash equilibrium to anything you can tell about villain. Minimum maths, but this feels about right, why not try it in SNGPT? Practise on the PP Hellkat trnys ... lol! GL |

Re: [TV Game] LOL@ betting structure
My advice is don't listen to any specific hand ranges given to shove with in this thread unless they break it down from position to position and for each type of opponent you will find left to act from each of those positions and what their respective stack sizes are.
The only thing I can say is you probably shouldn't be open shoving level one with anything. In general, level one you should be playing pretty tight in the early positions. However, even in level one the blinds are worth stealing so you should open up in the late positions. Also, you should be shoving over limpers with your medium-to-strong hands. Although, you'll be short on reads, so this will be risky. In level two, the average stack is likely to be such that you should be pushing or folding. You'll most likely be able to shove very wide from the button and SB and get progressively tighter as you move from LP. Then, for progessive levels you should probably be pushing wide from most positions. However, I don't think pushing ATC from any position is the way to go. |

However, I don't think pushing ATC from any position is the way to go. [/ QUOTE ] Because if I miss a spot, I will be super short stake (for example, 11k on blinds 2k/4k, or worst 3k/6k). I want to have the bigger fold equity possible & steal a lot of blinds. And in general, we are only 5 or 4 players at the level 2k/4k. Do you really think even pushing 72o at 3/6k blinds from UTG 4-5 handed is good? When you will almost certainly A) get called and B) get a better hand next hand that you will call with? |
