Re: WORLD WAR 3
details, details.
Of course US satellites would detect troop movements well in advance. So Sputnik Mark 10 is sent up to whack some tin and f-up the GPS network. Stepping out of fantasy land, the first strike in WW3 will probably happen over the internet, with the disabling of economic targets, airlines, and intel assets. |

Re: WORLD WAR 3
China doesn't even have the naval and amphibious superiority to invade an island a few miles off of their coast, let alone invade thousands of miles away across an ocean. And in some hypothetical Russia + China vs US situation, the US would also have NATO (which now reaches all the way up to the Russian border), Japan, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, and possibly India. Even if you give China and Russia Iran, North Korea, and the rest of the Shanghai Pact, they have no chance at all. The only way Russia + China could win a "war" against the US is if the war was entirely economic.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Klomp, There are billions of able bodies in China, Russia, and India whose governments would love to use as bullet-catchers for the Fatherland. [/ QUOTE ] can these people sprout wings and fly? man power in this day and age means very little. [/ QUOTE ] I think most people are not considering the fact that the leaders of China and Russia might not want to see their affluent lifestyles disputed by a bunch of US nukes being lobbed at them. Mutual destruction is not a very good reason to start a war. One other thing. Having an army of 100 million conscripts is one thing. Having an army of 100 million soldiers that will fight to the death like GRUNTS FROM HALO is quite another. [/ QUOTE ] |

[/ QUOTE ] Ya, this is a much overlooked factor. A lot of whatever the next war is, will be online, "professional hackers" trying to discrupt comm/power/etc lines, causing economic damage etc. This is one area that the US doesnt just completely own the rest of the world on. |
