Putting side saddle
I'm reading The Majors by John Feinstein and apparently Scott McCarron did this in a tournament while playing for UCLA and was promptly thrown off the team.
Can someone tell me what it is and why it's so bad? Thanks much. |

Re: Putting side saddle
Why is this outlawed? Seems like an arbitrary decision.

Re: Putting side saddle
This is really interesting, and it makes sense to me intuitively.
Has anyone experimented with this before? I want to try it, can I do it with any long belly putter or do I need to order a putter specially from that website? |

Re: Putting side saddle
Putting side saddle is perfectly within the rules of golf, as long as you stand on one side or the other (of the line of the put). Yes, a custom putter is recommended. google sidesadle putting. Saved my game and yes, no more yips!
Great way to put. |
