then how come chol lowering drugs don't do anything? heart attack rate and death rate is same. actually I think heart attack rate is slightly lowered but fatal heart attacks are same.

don't do anything? i can go find literature if you want but they most certainly work in achieving LDL goals in many many people. that's why people take them.

My cholesterol went from 240 to somewhere in the low 100's once I started taking statins. They are dirt cheap, and from what my pharmacist wife tells me, they have numerous probable benefits that are just being discovered.
