Re: please help me with health care
[ QUOTE ]
Cholesterol-clogging in arteries has been found in elementary school-age American children. By the time someone finds out their cholesterol is too high, it could easily be because damage has already been done. Lowering your cholesterol in itself won't repair damage to artery walls or remove blockages. However, that doesn't mean cholesterol hasn't done any damage and wouldn't be better off lowered. [/ QUOTE ] oh i see you own stock in pharma |

Re: please help me with health care
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Cholesterol and blood lipids are directly correlated with increased risk of heart attack/stroke due to artherosclerosis [/ QUOTE ] then how come chol lowering drugs don't do anything? heart attack rate and death rate is same. actually I think heart attack rate is slightly lowered but fatal heart attacks are same. [/ QUOTE ] don't do anything? i can go find literature if you want but they most certainly work in achieving LDL goals in many many people. that's why people take them. |

Re: please help me with health care
My cholesterol went from 240 to somewhere in the low 100's once I started taking statins. They are dirt cheap, and from what my pharmacist wife tells me, they have numerous probable benefits that are just being discovered.
