Default Re: nfl futures, Eagles under 8.5 wins this season?

Just remember this, they are almost the same team they were 2 years ago before they got TO, and they were in their 3rd straight NFCCG. This year they are rested, no deep post-season hangover. People seem to think that because they had one bad year, all of a sudden they are not a good team anymore. Also remember that last year, half the team was injured, especially on the offense.

As a Giants fan, the Eagles scare me, both this year and in the long term. They handle the cap extremely well (behind only New England, if that), and still have lots of talent. Last year, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I'd expect them to regress to the mean, which in their case (unfortunately) means 10-11 wins.

...if you really want to do a sophisticated analysis, you should assign a probability between 0 and 1 for each game.

I tried that once. The NFL is so parity-ridden, I gave just about every team a .5 for every game.

Yes the Eagles are still a good team but one thing you all are missing is that the rest of the division got better.
