May as well throw this one in here: I was playing at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Seated across from me is a mid-60's redheaded lady who says she deals at the Imperial Palace. She says that the auto-shufflers lead to low cards on the flop, where when she manually shuffles over at the IP, there tend to be more high cards on the flop.
Despite the temptation, I go to my default strategy and nod and agree. In retrospect, I should have worked out some elaborate prop bet on future flops and cleaned her out. Damn hindsight.

One of my personal fav's. Random donkament, I raise in late position. Player after me thinks for awhile a folds. When blinds fold and i pick up pot he says, "I should of called." I said oh yeah, what'd you fold? He says, "I was on the flush draw." I blink, decide he's totally serious but ask again, what? "I was on the flush draw, my cards were suited."

What a genius thread, 13 pages of hilarity!
Mine came from a small time B&M Tournament versus a well known local donk, early in the tournament blinds are 50/100 (5K starting stacks) I made it 300 UTG and get 3 callers including donk. FLOP comes J high and 2 low cards, I bet the pot and he moves in for his last 2K. I call asking sheepishly if he has a set?, "No, I've got J10!" and I show my AA happily and he says to me "I knew you had AA, you only play big cards!" in that terrible 'You're playing wrong cus you play good hands' manner. So I ask "why did you call then?" "Because I wanted to outdraw you!" Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

[img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] all - wanna read a book filled of bad table advice? Try "No Fold'em Hold'em" - how to play any two cards in a limit game, and send the rocks to the bar. The author was a prop at Commerce, his books are for sale in California and also at the Vegas gambling haunts. Brett's post reminded me of a line from that book.. its hysterical how some people rationalize their behavior.
