Re: **********November Low Content**************
Gurravasa - There is a special forum for discussion of books and publications. If you had put your question in a separate post, I would have moved it there - and I suggest you visit that forum and perhaps ask your question there.
Since you've posted in the low content thread, I can't move your post, and since it doesn't really deserve to get deleted, let me try to answer for you. I don't know of any book that is specifically written for pot-limit Omaha-8. There could be one, but if there is, I've never seen it. Most Omaha-8 books include sections on fixed-limit Omaha-8 and pot-limit Omaha-8. I'm partial to Ray Zee's 2+2 split poker book. The last half of it is devoted to Omaha-8 (and the first half to stud-8). But there honestly isn't much specifically about the pot limit game - just a short section. However, his book does cover general principles quite well - and it is "the classic" book about Omaha-8, a must read for the serious student of the game. Aside from that there are fans of Cappelletti, Krieger, and various other authors. I have bought every book I have ever seen with Omaha in it's title - over a dozen. Ray Zee's book is the best, in my humble opinion, and is very readable. The Omaha-8 section in Super System II is also very good. Most of the other books have merit and I have probably picked up something from many or them - but some books are truly awful and others are very or somewhat misleading, so be careful. Go to the books and publications forum for better information. Buzz moderator of this forum |

Re: **********November Low Content**************
Thanx Buzz.
I posted in the "wrong" forum on purpose, because I expected to get better answers here, and I think I did! Sometimes there are too many opinions in the "book" forum and it's hard to get an straight answer. I'll dig up SS2 and order Ray Zees book and get going. Then I'll terrorize this forum with foolish beginner hands ... |

[/ QUOTE ] My pompous remark was a statement about the lack of PLO8 publications and had nothing to do with how awesome of a player that I am. Some of the players that post on here are much more knowledgable on PLO8 than authors that have 2 pages devoted to it in their LO8 books. |

[/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] I don't highly dislike anyone, but I just have to add here my displeasure for Predator not necessarily hitting and running (it's his choice when to stop), but just abruptly leaving me. At least two times this month, after winning a few flips at 10/20nl or 25/50nl, he'll start talking to me, and then halfway through our conversation (While playing, mind you), he'll just immediately leave the table while playing elsewhere (usually much lower). Not a flame or anything... just a wtf? |

Re: **********November Low Content**************
I play 20bb NLO8 from 5/10 - 25/50. Everyone I play knows this. When both my stack and my opponents stack > 30bb's, I leave. It is no secret. Sometimes I double up and leave right away, sometimes I lose 7 flips before I leave. 99% of the time, I immediately start another table. If I didnt, it was because I wasnt going to be playing much longer, and the lower table 5/10 that I was sitting at I must have been finishing a session, not starting. GL should you choose to challenge me.
