Default Damned minraises !

Villain is some donk playing like 30/5. A little bit ago after he sat down he called my button raise and c/f to my cbet, other than that no history. One thing that struck me as odd was he instantly checked the turn, like super quickly.

Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $2/$4 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $473.00
BB: $106.30
UTG: $364.40
CO: $400.00
Hero (BTN): $435.60

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
2 folds, Hero raises to $16.00, SB calls $14.00, BB folds

Flop: ($36) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $30.00, SB calls $30.00

Turn: ($96) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $78.00, SB raises to $156.00, Hero ???

8s7s. Duh.

I call and re-evaluate river...but maybe that's a leak in my game.

He's not knowingly value raising any less than QQ (perhaps JJ at worst) imo. By the turn he should be expecting you to have KT+ a lot, and the occasional 2nd barrel/semibluff. So he probably expect to get paid off here. And if he really wanted to bluff the flop was probably a much safer place than this turn which help a lots of hands.

Could he be doing a stupid raise with like 5x, 4x or some random stuff like a floated QJ? I'd say it's very unlikely due to bet sizing mostly, people rarely bluff minraise in my book, especially OOP.

Looks like a fold to me, although i do hate minraise and may very well get valuetowned here in situ.

Donks who play like this, with min-raises etc, having a full stack kinda freaks me out, so sometimes I pay off but against most folding probably is better I guess.

Is it an option to call here and hope he checks the river? IMHO, these minraises often tend to be weak/drawing hands and few have the balls to fire the river.

Once we start believing players are making these min raises with OESD, flush draw weak hands etc, we start spewing chips even though QQ is a good hand, if we flat call here we can not call a river bet. So why even bother calling here, when most players dont keep pots small and fire out bets.
