Default 100NL - JJ

I have no stats or reads on villain other than that he seems a bit on the aggressive side, but not overly so. My image is TAG.

100NL 6-max game

I raise to $3.5 from UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Folded to villain on the button who calls, and the blinds fold.

The flop is K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check and villain bets $6. I raise to $21.

Thoughts?

Edit: Sorry for not converting the hand. Still haven't found a converter for B2B hands.

WTF is wrong with you?

edit : ok, don't mean to be so harsh but you asked for any thoughts. I might like this move if your hand was 72o.

I like this move against the right opponents. This way we will be able to find out right away if he has a King or not, which is better than calling the bet or folding for that matter. Also, this makes villain think twice about betting into us when we check, thus earning us more free cards. Shut down if called/raised of course.

Interesting, but is it relevant to this hand?

I don't like it. I guess you are repping a set here, but don't think typical opponents are capable of laying down a good K here. You prob have some FE against QQ, but other than that, I don't think you are losing many better hands here.

Edit - You're also building a large pot OOP with a vunerable hand that may have some showdown value.

It seems you are risking a lot for relativley little reward. I prefer leading the flop AND the turn to check raising here.

If we lead the flop and get called, why on earth would you want to lead the turn? This is a very dry board (obv dpends n what the turn is, but the flop is very dry), so we don't have to worry about protecting against draws. Check turn and get to showdown cheaply.

If he calls the check-raise your JJ is garbage, you may as well have 72, you have to just check-fold the turn. Better to do this check-raise bluff with a draw so that you may hit a nice turn and win a big pot. With JJ on this board you actually have some decent showdown equity if he likes to mess around.

OP gives no reason why he's not just cbetting.
