Interesting. I hate the 1 and 9 seats(9 handed game)but I like the 2 & 3 seats for some reasons.

Duh. That should be one of the first things you learn about poker.

I was sitting at the table the other night bored and thought "which seat has won the most over the billions of hands dealt in B&M casinos?"

My guess would be the 6 seat but maybe it's the 2 seat because so many winning players like the 2/3/7/8 seats and winning players play longer than losing players and often sit in the end seats.

From a live 9 seater's POV:

I'd agree that seats 1 and 9 suffer from vision defects with 1 being the worst because I often can't see if 9 has a hand, let alone see his action.

But let me throw in a curve ball. A seat opens on your immediate left. Do you slide into it to control for the possibility that the next person to be given a seat at your table might be a maniac? I do. I will give up a good vision seat to control where new players sit relative to me. Thus, I find that potential maniac control is more important than table vision in the set of "table selection" factors.

Made me think, though.

I do that too, but not because a new player might be a maniac, more because the new player may be just terrible.

Obvious answer -- 4-5-6 are the best (for those of us with less than perfect vision) because you can both see the cards on the board, and what the other players turn up the easiest.

thankfully most haven't learned it and there will be more money for us!

At least you're doing your best to educate those who want to learn.

The 2 seat is the best seat.

With a clear view of seats 3 thru 7, the players that will be acting after you.
