Carnivale i think was the best finale that I saw.

No HBO episode though compares even slightly to the first episode (2 parts) of season 2 of deadwood. The faceoff between Swearengen and Bullock

The Wire, Season 3, EP 11.

My tivo didn't record the last few minutes of the episode for some reason. My question (with spoilers) is below:

The last scene I saw was when the women were getting ready for Octavian's "Triumph". This was the scene immediately after Vorenus seeing his children for the last time. Did anything noteworthy follow these scenes?

If someone could PM me the answer, it would be appreciated.

Can someone make some recommendations as to the best books to read about the actual Roman history during this time?

I've loved the show and would like to read about the history to understand the show even more and see what they changed.

I think they left the door open for another season... But probably not. There is alot of Roman history they could still cover.

hopey (spoilers):

you definitely missed one scene. it's cute but not all that important. The ending of the "girls getting ready scene" was pretty good and I'm not sure you saw all of it?

PS: we should get a mod to add a spoilers disclaimer to the title.

The episode has aired---why are people concerned about disclosing plot information? I thought it was only a "spoiler" if the show hadn't aired?

I'm reading a book called "Rubicon" that came highly recommended.

I think a lot of people casually follow Rome. Watching it in on demand in the next week or so after it airs. Given it is the series finale i see no problem being careful with spoilers for the next week or two.

I'll add the "Spoilers" tag to the thread header, but I don't see any problem with posting extensive spoilers here given that the show has already aired.

Worthless: Just read roman history books. Literally. Livy and Tacitus are two of my favorites. Plutarch is less factual, but awesome. Enjoy.
