Default Event 3 already at 3300 runners

I am sitting in line at the Rio right now. They are already at 3300 players as of 5:30am, with everyone after 3000 being alternates. A guy just came by and we asked him if he was an alt, and he said "oh, table 320, must not be!" He and many others won't be happy in the morning

I'm not the first person to bash Harrahs, but [censored]. We got here on thursday to register and they didn't even have registration open. I'm pretty pissed to be stuck as an alternate and this 3 hour [censored] line is [censored] gross.

Every year this place is mis managed horribly. I have been to biz conventions that were much larger and ran so well. So it can be done, just these Punks at rio are shooting themselves in the foot with there cheapness.

All,

This tourney last year:

ENTRIES
2,776

Maybe reports of the death of WSOP were premature?

I would expect that the 1500 buy in events will remain very popular, the big test is the ME.

10k cash instead of ME buyin = more early event entries

The ratio of satellite winners to direct buyins or live sat winners is way way way to the side of direct buyins and live sat winners in the $1500s and $2000s and completely opposite for the ME. The larger events will that had people Q'ing online will obviously be the ones that take the biggest hits.
