20/40nl WTF spot

Live at the Commerce, Villian in this hand is playing a gameboy inbetween hands. He seems just like a bad tag, and I've seem him make some terrible plays.

He limps UTG, SB completes I check.

I have A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Flop is 885.

I lead for $100
UTG calls
SB folds

Turn is 5

I bet $200
UTG calls

River is J

I bet $350
UTG Raises to $1800

There's no way he has J8 here. How often is he just bluffing with ace high here? ever?

generally if he's not completely useless a raise here is bad. people do limp w 55 and J8s, and hes not calling w anything you beat anyway

i have no idea what he has here, but anything besides calling seems bad. though 55 wouldn't shock me. Actually against the tightest of opponenets, i guess you could find a fold, but if theres no way, he had J8 or JJ, then easy call.

Anyways, I would call.
JJ and J8 look far out there. 55 is very real. Air or a 5 seems likely since the kid is making bad plays... I would go with a call unless a strong read says otherwise. Chop chop 60% of the time, lose 5% of the time, win 35% of the time?

Ummm, fold. If you think about it, you're actually not beating anything reasonable, and it doesn't make much sense to call 1500 more to chop up 1500 in the middle already.

I like a fold.

He probably limped UTG with JJ and 2 outed you on the river. I see people limp pairs UTG and then play them terribly all of the time.

If he does have quads, flat calling on that turn seems like a terrible play (but apparantley one which many people would make, so I guess quads is possible).

I think this is a fold, but it's read dependent. Again, given the description you provided, he probably had JJ.

The guy wasn't even a kid, was at least 30 years old. He randomly played a hand every orbit and seemed to win every pot he was in.

I don't think this guys UTG range involves any hand with an 8 (besides 88). I honestly think I'm winning it all or losing it all a majority of the time, in which case a fold does sound like the best play.

for sure call. You'll be calling the 1450 to chop the pot and win 720 most always. Rarely he'll have quads, but i'm not folding based on that. Maybe he caugth with his J8. On other hand, maybe he's got 5, senses weakness on your river bet and this is one of his 'horrible' plays.

So you are planning to fold because you put him on exactly 55 or JJ? What is your image? You said you have seen him make really terrible plays and you are folding the third nuts for 50bb in a live game? Just call.
