Common, but interesting spot from the BB
This spot seems really simple, but it got me thinking, and I came up with decent reason for every action possible. It's relatively common, but I thought it was interesting enough to post.
Live tournament at the Commerce. 25/50 blinds. UTG has $4000 MP has $2500 LP has $6000 HERO has $1550 Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the Big Blind UTG Raises to 225 MP Calls 225 LP Calls 225 Hero ???? UTG is an old asian guy, and I've seen him limp Aces utg, and limp Kings utg+1 already. What do you do in this spot and why? |

Re: Common, but interesting spot from the BB
I would push, particularly since UTG has twice limped big pairs in early position.

This might be the easiest push ever.
This is a perfect squeeze opportunity to add 40%+ to your stack without a showdown or to get the chips in with significant equity. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure I had almost no folding equity. He's an old Asian guy, aka nitty, but his range could likely be missing big pairs. |

Re: Common, but interesting spot from the BB
his range shoudl prob be pairs jj or lower, A10+, maybe KQ. i would think thats it. the only real hand i think you should worry about here is AK. and a nitty opp woudl prob fold most of that range to a push.
so, push it is. |
