def my fav movie ever. i would say its the greatest movie ever made but i think that dr. strangelove barely edges it out.
however TBL def more enjoyable and rewatchable.
couple of my fav parts that no one has mentioned:

i love how the narrator comes in 1/2 thru the movie to ask the main character if he can stop cursing so often.

also love the line where the dude describes the sherrif as "a real reactionary".

also love how when the dude is at ralphs he hears george bush say the bit about the line in the sand and he then uses it later on in the movie.

I didn't even catch this until my most recent (and probably 50th) viewing of the movie a week or two ago. Bush Sr. busts out the "this aggression will not stand" line and then the Dude later uses it when Lebowski is attacking his character. Awesome.

I may be headed over to a friend's house, he just called me and said he recorded this flick but has never seen it. I told him to prepare to be disappointed - it doesn't deliver on the first viewing but every one thereafter. Still it may be interesting to watch with a Lebowski noob to get his take.
