[ QUOTE ]
The more I think about it, I'd probably bet the under on 200 as long as we are talking about a span of a couple of years. There are a lot of people who have made 500k+ in one year, it's just hard to do it for 2-3+ years

[/ QUOTE ]
The number of people who have made over $500k per year for 3 years? I would set the line at perhaps 25, and I think that might be too high.

I think you guys are badly over estimating how many people win a lot of money at this game, even Taylor who is presumably one of those 25.

What would you consider the average BBPT/100 for regulars/pro's playing 2-4NL, 5-10NL, 10-20NL, and 25-50NL?

6,4,3,2 sound close?

i agree its probably less than 25 when taken over consecutive years. In one given year it is must be in the region of several hundred.

A high limit SNG player could make over 500k in just rakeback alone if he really wanted to and it's basically assumed that SNGs are not the way to go if you want to make the most money in poker. With that being said my guess is around 200 per year with a lot of those only making 500k in a year once or twice in their lifetime.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, are you high? 500K in rakeback alone??? Ummmm, no.

That's means you're paying about 1.5 million in rake. So say your regular SNG was the $200+16 you would have to play 93,750 of them over the course of the year to pay 1.5M in rakeback. This really isn't possible.

In the MTT Community forum, Rizen sort of admitted his grind rate was perhaps a bit north of 200 $/hr. He plays a mix of MTT and cash and does not like to play excessive hours. So, even if we figure him on a 40 hr workweek and 2 wks vacation per year, that's 2000 * 200-250 $/hr = $400-500K / yr

[/ QUOTE ]
Your post is quite sensible until the last part. He says he doesn't like to play excessive hours, which you equate to being 40 hours per week. I'm afraid that what he means is that he plays ~10-20 hours per week. I know a lot of big winners who do not put in more than 30k hands/month, or less.

[/ QUOTE ]He said in an ESPN interview that he treats poker like a job and plays about 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Could someone do the math on that for me?
