Default Breaking News: Fire at the Stardust

Hello all,

Wife just called and let me know that there is some sort of fire at the Stardust, with large clouds of black smoke billowing from the property. Emeergency vehicles can be heard all over the Strip right now.

Don't know any details yet. Too soon for even the news to know about it yet. Wife said that many people are just standing around the sidewalks and other properties watching (she works in the Strip).

The Stardust has been gutted for a few weeks now, and is preparing for implosion in March. The tower is see through at this point due to the glass being removed and stripping inside. Fire is in the front of the building, from what she said.

Just an FYI for anyone that might care.

UPDATE: Strip has been CLOSED to traffic. Apparantly, it is the casino building that is on fire (which os the lower building that sits in front of the main tower).

(Mods, if this should be posted in NVG or somewhere else, sorry, and feel free to move).

Construction fire near the Strip

Firefighters are on the scene of a construction fire at 3000 S. Las Vegas Boulevard. So far, it's not known what started the blaze. News 3 will have the very latest at 4.

The news just broke into regular programming here in Vegas.

They said that it is "quite a large fire" but is still a First Alarm at this point. Apparantly, it is in the lower tower, and that construction workers attempted to outen it themsevels at first, which failed. They chowed chopper footage of the smoke, which is fairly heavy. Interesting.

I once saw Bill Braxely run so hot at the craps table that the whole casino burned down.

Is this a bad Bill Braskey joke, or is Braxley actually a guy and it's a bad Bill Braxely joke.

I heard Bill Braskey wrestled three live alligators AND ran the bulls at Pamplona, on the same day, and STILL closed the Copperbilge deal before happy hour. To Bill Brasky!!
