the market does not correct itself efficiently because it is constituted too heavily of bad random posters. every other thread contains at least one unfunny [], if not a bevy of them.
i see nothing wrong with instituting insta 1-day bans for lame, cliche posts.

on the issue at hand, i'm totally fine with banning people who overuse it and aren't funny. but it should still be used by people who are good at it. the mods should feel free to use their discretion to decide which is which.
