Played my 1st 6max.. OMG I'm a Lag?! 30/20

$0.50/1 table on Stars, 300 hands on 2 tables, 1bb/100 (I got stacked once when my bottom 2pair got duplicated [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] )

30% vpip, 20% pf raise. [img]/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

I'm usually a $60 SnG player with 12% vpip at the lower blinds. but decided to practice 6max for the Star's 10billion hand bonus promo.

i know at 6max, i need to be looser than 12% vpip, so i raised 4BB with the following in any position if i'm 1st in the pot:
Ax
any 2 face cards
KXs
any connectors and one offs
any suited connectors up to 2 off
any pair

wow.. never knew that was 30% VPIP. PT says i'm an ultra aggressor.

suggestions PLEASE?

oh, and how is it 1bb/100 if i won $6 and played 300 hands? shouldnt it be 2bb/100?

KXs usually sucks in early position, as do hands like KTo or 9To (actually a lot of off suit hands). So do a lot of suited connectors.

However in late position these tend to be playable in a lot of situations.

I suggest you start using position more to your advantage instead of just playing the same from every position.

i raise less hands than you early and more hands late.

I got stacked twice. once when 15outer didnt hit, and when i didnt fold top 2 pair to villian's set.

but i'm still up 8bb/100 today [img]/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img]

i scaled back my raising from early position to AT+, KQ, and any pair. and i'm still 28vpip/19 pfr?!

is it because i'm getting more raisable hands in late position during these 800 hands?

1BB in NL = 2x the big blind so $6 in 300 = $2/100 = 1BB/100 at .5/1.

You need to seriously tighten up in early position. 90% of the game is position.

What do you mean position? (Rememeber, i play SnGs, so i suck in postflop [img]/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img] )

folded to me on button. i raise to 4BB with 76s. SB reraises to $14. flop = 259 rainbow. villian fires off a 3/4pot cbet. i dont have the odds for a gutshot, so i fold.

Position: Play looser on the button than anywhere, gradually tighten up through the cut-off, middle position to under the gun. If your acting after other players in the pot, you have position (more information about their hand when you come to act) so should play looser/more marginal hands.

Throw out A2-A9 and the "any two broadways". They are just crud.
I would suggest playing KXs, AXs, sc's/ssc's only from last 2 positions (CO/BU) since when you hit a draw, they are much much harder to play profitably out of position. Though you can play AXs from EP too if you know how to play them, but people don't so through it out from EP.

I would suggest from first 2 opening positions (UTG/MP) if you are first in, raise AJo+/KQo+/pairs (and you can add KJs and maybe other suited broadways depending on the table)
From last two positions, add AXs/sc's/ssc's/any two suited broadways
From button you can add KXs and suited-2-gappers and any two offsuit broadways, but anywhere else you are asking for trouble a lot of the time.

Most importantly, be positionally aware and play less hands from early positions and more from late positions where you have an enormous advantage post flop. Draws in particular are completely different oop compared to being in position. And don't play crud from EP like TKo.
