As played I like the flop push

Nah try to keep this pot as small as possible.

it's either push or fold when he bets into you. Obv you like to see a cheap showdown, but he isn't giving you the option, so I think pushing +EV here. I don't think I'm contradicting myself.

[/ QUOTE ]
Keeping the pot small and check-raising all-in would be a contradiction.

[/ QUOTE ]

i think what hes *trying* to say is that, while your original goal would be something along the lines of checking behind on the flop with a midpair, the situation has turned such that you either have to secede the pot or come over the top. since the original goal of keeping the pot small has arrived at a fork in the road, he suggests shoving....maybe im just way off

[/ QUOTE ]

No need to be patronising, that was what I was trying to say. I thought it was quite clear.. maybe not!

I would have folded this preflop because you have 9-high, this is a sit and go, and you are out of position.

Also, relevant stacks in a hand are more than just the raiser and you. What about the make up of all the stacks MP is raising into? That certainly has a bearing on his preflop range.

Also, the action on the flop is screwed up. MP can't be first to act if you were in fact in the BB.

[/ QUOTE ]

eh, thought it would be understood that I checked the flop.

Updated to:

Flop: 5 9 J rainbow
Hero checks, MP bets 250, Hero pushes

So u dont think the chk raise push is a FPS?

if you take the flop you have no choice but to check shove... his range is big and hes cbetting a lot of it.
