Seriously, if I was HSNL player I would trust pretty much no one unless you're 100% sure who you're talking to.

it's a long story but the short of it is I told clamper I wanted to escrow, he came back few minutes later and bluemanpoker77 aim'd me saying he has 1k from clamper asking me if it's for me. I was in a hurry so I did the xfer right then. I'm usually very very thorough with these things but I was in a hurry and got caught off gaurd.

I have no idea how much 1k is worth to you, but it boggles my mind that some of you guys are still SO nonchalant about transferring money, even with all the hacking posts in the last day

I saw that you are usually thorough...but come on man, if there's ever a time to be even more cautious than usual, it is now.

Seriously guys, WTF-

How hard would it be for every transfer to go through the following process?

Speak to them on 2p2.

Ask for references.

Trade AIM names.

Exchange telephone numbers and speak with eachother briefly over the phone.

Sit down at a table with the amount you intend to swap.

Swap whatever amount you're swapping in 5 increments, i.e., $1K = $200 x 5

Fwiw guys, if anyone here gets scammed and has any personal information on the scammer (name, city, age, etc, etc), pm me and I can usually locate them through a database I still have access to from days long ago as an asset recovery specialist.

But seriously, I know most of us dont like a hassle or inconvenience, but practice some patience when transferring money and use protocol that reduces your risk. Take the extra 15 minutes to ensure you either wont get scammed or if you do get scammed it's minimized through small transfers instead of one lump sum.
