Default Columbus day weekend in Vegas.

So I spent 3 nights in Vegas. All three nights I played $15-30 at Bellagio.

Friday night started off great with multiple winning hands. A couple fishy azn guys, but everyone else was pretty TAG except for one guy who's picture is in Webster's next to the phrase "weak tight". In the most awesome example of how to win the minimum when you flop the nuts:

Villian is BB. 4 limpers and the sb completes. Flop is

7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Bet in mp and button raises. The field calls.

Turn is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Checked through.

River is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Checked through

Villian pounds down J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for the flopped nuts. Nice.

The game got pretty bad and I cashed out +755 after 4 hours, hit Noodles Asia(dominant yummy), hit the $3 min craps tables at Casino Royale(damm that place smells bad) and got many beers and got to stare at a blonde cutie with big boobs whose dad was tossing the dice. Mmmmmm...... boobs.

Saturday I decided I wanted to play at Wynn. I arrived around 8pm and put my name on the $15-30 board and sat down at the $8-16. After about 10 minutes, I noticed my name was not on the board anymore and I'm like wtf? I roll over to a floorman and ask him where the $15-30 is and he says the game broke about 30 minutes ago. Big boo-urns. I played another 2 hours of uneventful $8-16 and left. The game was not bad, but I wasn't hitting anything and was getting bored.

I returned to Bellagio around 11pm, and got seated immediately. The game instantly looked awesome. One of the fishy azn's was there. The guy to my right was kinda goofy and clearly just out for a good time. Nitty horrible player to my left who refused to chop. WTF? The guy is absolutely awful and he wants to play the blinds? Heh. The table was so awesome that I never got to play heads up.

A couple sample hands:

Tight thinking player raises UTG. I 3 bet in HJ. Button 4 bets and sb cold calls. Random insane BB caps and 5 of us take a flop for 5 bets. Flop is

Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Checked to me and I bet. Button raises and sb 3 bets. BB and UTG fold and I call. Button calls.

Turn is Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB leads and I fold. Button raises, sb 3 bets, button calls. River is a blank and bet/call. SB's AQ is goot. Button had KQo.

At this point, button in above hand had sucked out two pair on me 3 times. Villian is horrible awful. At this point, his stack had gone from $1200 to over $2600 almost entirely on awful beats. So I was tilting pretty good and this hand comes along:

Folded to me and I raise 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the co.

Villian 3 bets. Field folds and I unhappily call. Flop is

2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I check/call.

Turn is 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I c/r. Villian 3 bets. I 4 bet. Villian calls and calls my river bet. Justice is mine. I called villian a b-tch under my breath(I think he heard, and I was really steamed). This put him on mega monkey tilt and he ran his stack all the way down to $600 by the time I left.

Eventually I cash out down $957. I played pretty bad and deserved the loss even though like two cards in huge pots were a $1600 difference this night.

I was staying at Orleans(clean, large room, and lots cheaper than the strip). I stepped up to a craps table. I got stuck about $150 right away. Then the two guys to my left went on monster rolls and I cashed out +$425. I hate that craps is so damm fun. Dudes wern't even dice setting or anything...just chucking them out there. First guy hit 4 points and the second guy hit another 5 or 6 and several numbers.

Sunday night I hit Bellagio again. $15-30 again and a pretty decent game. One thing about the Vegas games is that the nitty players are really nitty. An example from Sunday night:

Short young white guy in visor. He's a regular at Bellagio and likely thinks he is a pro and likely is a 2+2er. He bounces all over the place like he's got ants in the pants. Anywho, he sits down to my right. Old angry guy says something about how the visor guy "beat me with that one outer". Visor guy says that he had more outs. They get into an argument about the hand and who had more outs. I jokingly yell out "nit fight!". Visor guy says "sir...do not instigate...what fight?....I do not know what you are talking about.....what fight?....I don't understand sir." I swear I thought he was joking and I'm giggling like a hyena. I though he was being as sarcastic as can be. Later on he says I'm a entertaining guy and this and that. Again, I thought he is just kinda goofing. Apparently not. Once he leaves the table, I get told that I shouldn't bother arguing with him, and that he was serious and not joking at all. Go figure. FWIW, old angry guy had the reddest face of all time for the entirety of my Sunday night session and I'm pretty sure he was steamed really really bad.

One of my better hands was:

Donkey raises MP1. Donkey is really horrible and easy to read. Same guy that capped off pf in the hand above that AQ won. I pick up AK in sb and 3 bet. Flop is Ace-rags. I bet, donkey calls. At this point donkey has Ax, with no chance he has any other hand, and its an easy value bet turn and river. I show my AK, donkey is a good donkey and shows A6. +275.

Default Re: Columbus day weekend in Vegas.

I was there this last weekend as well. I'm not one for trip reports, however, I will say good times were had, and money was made.

I think this is about the time the 30-60 game started. I talked to AJ, and he said that for the past couple of weeks the 15 game has been struggling, but the 30 game has been going every night. This wasn't really a problem for me as I prefer to play higher, but this couldn't possibly be a good sign for the long term health of limit poker in Vegas. Maybe I'll have to learn to actually like NL one of these days, but at least I live in a city that doesn't allow real NL.
