I keep looking up Lidge's numbers at various places and they all say something like: 2.44ERA, 11.77k/9, 3.05k/bb. LIES. I know the real truth.

This is just like the conspiracy to hide Mike Sweeney's real numbers and his 2005 single-season home run record-breaking year, when he hit 102 home runs and an earth shattering 28 triples.

Barry, here's the thing:

If Lidge gets back to his old form, he's like a top 2 closer in all of baseball. He literally shortens the game an inning. Implied odds, dude! If Astros hit their hand, the payoff could be huge.

Of course, trades should always be entertained. Realistically, nobody should be untradeable.

But the Stros are banking on hitting their 2-outer for a 300BB pot.

Here's Morgan's approach every single time.

Watch ball 1 (good!)
Watch ball 2 (great!)
Foul back 90 mph meat right out over the plate. (Wasted.)
Watch ball 3 (OK, back on track!)
Take strike 2 (Why didn't you swing? Oh yeah, you look to walk every single time, regardless of opportunities)
full count pitch: Hit 17 foot tapper back to pitcher on 90mph fastball over plate. (DIAGF, [censored].)

Seriously, I've never seen a guy waste so many 2-0, & 3-1 90mph fastballs over the plate. Every single time, fouled straight back. If Sean Berry didn't make him drop an ounce or two in bat, he should be fired.

Stand at 90 degree angle to the plate, requiring massive closing of stance on every pitch, which can't possibly make it easier to hit.

Probably lost bat speed and power, and has to take them because he can't do anything with them.

So in other words, he's not good at playing baseball anymore.
