His calling range is wider than his betting range on the river here imo. [/ QUOTE ] even if this is true, can't it still be wrong to bet? seems like there are a bunch of hands he could be ahead with here, and those will almost certainly call and often might raise. additionally, he's got to know that we are unlikely to have a hand that could comfortably call a river raise on this board and may take away the pot a reasonable amount of the time. i could be wrong, but it seems like his calling range needs to be a lot wider than his betting range for this to be a good bet. maybe this would be more true for a smaller bet. |
