The Padres' pitching vorp is 104.6. hitting vorp is 50.4. That's gotta be a pretty damn rare ratio, especially for a 1st place team.

Padres are definitely not that good. Pitching = great, hitting = pretty bad.

I still think Peavy would be a top pitcher in the AL, obv his stats wouldn't be quite as good, but he's got some nasty stuff.

If their pitching stays this solid the Pads are the favorites in the NL.

The Padres' pitching is impressive, but running out the lineup they did today isn't going to cut it:
Bocachica
Cruz, Jr.
Gonzalez
Cameron
Bard
Greene
Headley
Blum

Edit: I think the D'backs will win that division.

They want Santana + Aybar + a top prospect for dunn so that won't happen
