Default Burden of proof that someone is a spammer

Got a couple notifications and PMs today about two posts a new user, zhinl16, made in LOL. Now, this does kind of reek of spam - just registered today, two links to the same site - however, the links are to legitimate games which are the subject matter of LOL. I think it's more likely than not the guy's just spamming his site, but at the same time I feel bad deleting the posts/banning him, because, again, the links are LOL material.

Is there an official 2+2 burden of proof requirement to ban someone for spamming, or is it just up to my discretion? Thoughts on this specific instance? Thanks.

Just use your best judgment. We can always consider unbanning the person later if it seems like a good idea.

Looks like blatant spam from a new member. The posts should go, and he should be banned.

I tend to be really liberaly with likely spammers in the sub 10 post count range. If they weren't one, they'll email and get unbanned, but they never go 'cause they were all spammers.

My personal opinion, if you care, is that banning for spam should be pretty lenient in LOL (since that's kind of the point of the forum). If the links don't suck, then aren't they just fullfilling the whole point of LOL?

Yeah, that was kind of my thought. I don't really care either way, just wanted to know what the policy was. Cola has spoken.

Is he back?

Check out agjiki19.

Similar name, email, IP, content... just registered today.

Yes, I get way too into investigating possible spammers. I feel like a conspiracy theorist or something, but idk, maybe worth keeping an eye on.
