Default Laundry/bleach question

Every white T-shirt I own seems to develop nasty yellow armpit stains within 4 or 5 wears. I've tried regular bleach (Clorox) to get these out, but to no avail. Is there a bleach/cleaner out there that's actually effective with this sort of thing or do I have to just keep buying new undershirts every couple months? Thanks.

The common theme of all the answers seem to be pretreating before you throw them in the wash.

2 washes, one wash in cold/cold, with detergent, one wash in hot/cold with detergetn and bleach. Your whites will be so bright you need sunglasses

I have a bunch of dark ones too that obviously don't have this problem, but they show through white dress shirts. I need at least a few white T-shirts.

Ive never had any problem just using regular bleach

...make sure to use hot water

...add bleach, detergent

...turn on the machine, then let water fill but dont close lid as it will then soak for a while, usually I go back in an hour or so and close lid and let run its cycle

...then rewash with just detergent, as I hate any hint of bleach smell

...and the whole half cup or water crap is hogwash I just dump a crap load in there

Use a deodorant with aluminum chloride instead of aluminum tetrachlorohydrex GLY (like Ultra Dri). It stings a bit but works waay better than other antiperspirants, and no more yellow pit cake.

I just buy new underclothing. It's cheap enough. I'm not going to spend too much time trying to get the crap and piss stains out of my drawers or the ammonia stains out of my armpits.

Those yellow stains always smell like ammonia, though. Try vinegar maybe.
