Re: Padres #1 on ESPN power rankings
i dont get it. the red sox have the best record in baseball, the largest divisional lead in baseball, and they keep dropping (and behind a team they swept and outscored 25-3?)
i hate these things |

Re: Padres #1 on ESPN power rankings
As far as these ranking go, the Padres ever being #1 is really a stretch, just an anomaly of being hot while Mets, Yanks, Red Sox hit more bumps early, and I like the Padres. (I grew up a Red Sox fan and the are still my team forever). The Pads spend nothing on free agents, have no bats, but management makes these sweet deals and signings, and they compete hard. They are good guys and no prima donas.
But they have no Nintendo bats like Boston, NYY or NYM. Nothing close to guys where the ball just explodes off the bat. No Pujos, Vlade, zip. I am always happy when the Padres are .500. Seriously, just be respectable is good for a mid level team, the fact that they are exceeding expectations year after year is great. They are a good little team, but not #1. |
