Chips for 8-16

Going to Vegas next month to play 8-16 for the first time at Bellagio & Wynn. What color chips do I buy-in for and bet with? I'm used to my simple Midwest 10-20 games, buying in for a rack of red and betting 2/4 chips.

Sorry if this has been asked, I searched to no avail.

bellagio uses red $5 chips and blue $1 chips...
wynn uses brown $2 chips...

For the Bellagio game, just buy a rack of red. Change some of the red for white when you sit down, or buy maybe $40 worth of white at the cage when you get the red. Whatever. At the Wynn, it's $2 brown chips, and you'll want at least 2 racks (25BB's). The local nits thought I looked like a freak when I did it, but I bought in for 3 racks just to be safe when I played last December. I think it's a bet and four raises (rather than a bet and three raises as on Party) at the Wynn, so you're going to need 15BB's minimum in your stack just to be able to cap every street if you're so inclined. IMO sitting in a limit game with less than enough to cap all streets if you catch the nuts is just plain stupid.

I like to buy in for 375 in read and 25 in blue at the Bellagio. Keeps a nice full rack.
