To the OP: I wouldn't bother taking the hard drives out. I don't think it will make a difference. I definitely wouldn't take the power supply out. Also, how did you plan on carrying it? You're going to need to rig up some kind of handle or wheels or something. That casease thing looks decent but $40 is what it would cost to ship. |

[/ QUOTE ] The point was that everything in his computer had at one point been shipped and turned up fine. Shipping it with enough insurance to replace it will be so much easier than the hassle of taking it on a plane. Worst case you get to test your backups and get a new machine. |

It costs significantly more than $40 to ship a normal sized PC. As far as the trouble of bringing it on a plane, it is simply not difficult at all, unless you can't physically lift your PC. It's the same as taking any piece of carryon, and it fits in the overhead compartment just fine.
