Default Aggro maniacs

Is there an answer for them? You know, the kind that caps pre-flop with 9-6 offsuit and rivers a 4 outer for a straight to beat your flopped set. I'm getting tired of getting sucked out on hand after hand after hand. I see poker tutors and workshops and camps that claim to have The Answer. Is there an Answer? I don't need to know what it is, just if there is one...

They can never river you if you fold preflop. Or don't come to the casino that day. Or quit poker for the rest of your life.

I think the answer is if you can flop a set against 96o every hand, you'd be the winningest poker player in history. Once every twenty minutes or so you'd still get rivered however...

That's what I keep telling myself. However, I wonder if my bankroll will last long enough to get to the top side of the variance curve. I don't lose EVERY hand that I start out way ahead on, just most of them.

Variance isn't a curve; it's a number.

This is why I play NL, you can vary your bet size and reduce your variance. The variance at limit makes me suicidal at times...

Insult them when they river you. That way, they'll be too embarassed to do it again.
