What to buy? HOH vs Little Green vs NLHTAP - Any ideas?

Hi all

I currently have SSHE and Hold'em For Advanced Players.

I am now playing no limit and mostly Sit and Go Tourney or MTT online.

I have seen the recommendations on this site for people in my position are:

HOH 1 & 2

Phil Little Green and Blue Book

No Limit Hold'em Theory & Practice and Tournament Poker for Advanced players.


Given the string recommendations for these I think I will read them all over the next few years but I would like some advice on where to start?

Any suggestion on the first 2-3 books to read for a relative beginenr who has read SSHE and TOP and now wants to play No Limit Tournements?


Any advice appreciated.

If you were comfortable with SSHE, I would definitely dive right into HOH 1 and 2.

I'd go LGB first, then the HOHs.

Then I'd read LGB again, then read the HOHs again, then I'd read NLH:T&P.

You can skip Tournament Poker for Advanced Players. The HOH series surpasses it.

IMHO sng's are totally different than MTT's
There really isnt a good sng book out there.
If you focus on MTT's listen to the consensus... HOH .. get all three ... but come on .. they are all worth their price several times over.
but get the little green book last ... you need some experience to appreciate it. and it doesnt cover the basics at all.

I've read all the mentioned books except tournament poker for advanced players. However, as I read this post I realized that I didn't learn anything in NLHTAP. I'm pretty sure that I would have been better off reading HOH a third time. Does anyone else feel this way?

Hm, i m thinking about reading it another time but i just hope the pro nlh new 2+2 book will be better so i dont have to read it again :P Really i dont like the style much.
I d go for the HoHs for sngs for sure!
