Certain people were put in an advantageous position where they were able to continue. As far as I can see, this was an FTP server problem or someone's server that they are using and are responisble for. I am not entirely sure how many people were disconnected from their game servers tonight, but they cannot stop the tournament for the other players who are still active and playing. Let's say you are playing at the WSOP ME and that by chance half of the remaining players from the final 3 tables are stuck in an elevator that is blacked out. The rules of the tournament state that the next round begins in 5 minutes sharp. The rules also state that the tournament will wait for no player. So guess what? If you are unlucky enough to be stuck in that elevator, you are screwed and you will be blinded off. Now, if there were a complete blackout that effected the entire casino and hotel, then the tournament should be postponed. At best, what will happen is that you will receive a credit to your account for a reentry into another tournament which imho is very good deal. Just remember, when you choose to play on the site the site is not responsible for any technical shortcomings that effect ability to stay connected online. Secondly, the reason support is also taking so long to answer you is because they are probably being bombarded with emails from thousands of other players asking the exact same question. Many players send in multiple emails asking the exact same thing. It does not help. So please, do yourself and the site a favor and don't send in multiple emails. It will only slow responses down further. Let me know how they respond to you and I'll let you whether or not it is a warranted and proper answer.

Hi Pyrosis. Let me give you an example of what I think happened. I am playing at the WSOP ME and Harrah's decided that with 25 people left, all Americans should not be let into the casino. I'm sure that the tourney's standing from there on would not be legal and Harrah's would be sued. The problem with your example is that you are implying that I did something different from other players, i.e. get into the elevator on my break. That would be akin to trying to fix my computer while playing and messing up my connection. What happened was I was playing at the table just like everyone else, and due to the fault of the casino's servers, I was one of the few who was affected. I don't see how the casino is not liable for this.
Anyway, I hate harping on and on. It's just hard to accept. I play poker like most of us to try and hit that one big score so I can get rolling. I won a PS $100 tourney this week and really felt that I was on a good roll in this tourney. Sucks that I didn't get a chance to compete for $197 K, and got paid out only 4K, which I was guaranteed at the time the server went down anyway. Oh and by the way, FTP wrote back and said that they are doing an investigation and basically said, "We are currently reviewing the players affected by this issue, which can take up to 72 hours to complete." That to me does not sound good and like Pyrosis said, probably will result in some kind of small credit to my account. Either way, just venting...

LIKE I SAID, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! FT HAS THE WORST SUPPORT OUT OF ANY SITE. AT LEAST SITES LIKE PARTY WOULD RANDOMLY CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT FOR BEING A LOYAL MEMBER. STARS HAS THE BEST SUPPORT OF ANY SITE, AND WHAT HAS FT EVER DONE OUT OF GENEROSITY? NOTHING BUT PASTE AUTO REPLIES WHENEVER I EMAIL THEM ABOUT ANYTHING! LIKE G STATED, IT WAS NOT OUR FAULT THIS HAPPENED AND WHY SHOULD ANY NON US PLAYERS BE REWARDED FOR BEING ISOLATED FROM THIS OCCURENCE?
