Default PokerStars 10B celebration : 9,900,000,000 prediction thread

OK, it's awfully early but I thought I'd set my first prediction for the new promotion.

Currently, hands are clipping away at 14K/hour which means my first, very crude, estimate is:

Hand 9.9B will come at around ...

Sunday May 15 at 2:00 PM ET

This is awfully crude because it will take a while to see how this promotion affects the average hands/hour during different times of day. In any even, Sunday should be the first big day.

Since bonuses will be given away every hour or so (unlike every 10-12 hours last year) there's probably not much point setting up groups of 6, but feel free.

If you do want to start up a group of reliable folders and want to maximize your tables, the cheapest "high" buy-ins are at the "Fixed" $15/$30 level (min $150 buyin), the cheapest "Medium" is PL/NL $1/$2 (min $40 buyin), and the cheapest "Low" is Fixed $0.50/$1 (min $5 buyin). Note: high-speed tables have faster animations, so you can fold more hands/hour.

Finally, the whole thing will probably be over by next Friday (May 18).

Good Luck!

Could someone estimate the $/hr bonus that is earned by going for any of these milestone hands? It seems pretty low to me at first glance, besides the 10B hand.

(hands per hour) * (total bonus money) / number of players / 1.000.000.

For example, on a 6-max low stakes table: 100 * 1500 / 6 / 1.000.000 = 2.5 cents / hour. Virtually nothing.

Yes, the prize money for individual milestones isn't high enough to justify organizing a group of folders (that final one is though).

Based on my experience from the 5B celebration a good group of folders can increase their chance of hitting a milestone hand to at least 1 in 50 each time. At medium stakes, Goldstars can earn about $3900/6/50 = $13/hour.

The real benefit of all this is the double VPP/FPPs and all the extra fish.

Last time this promo went it was amazing. i was still playing 50 then and it was like 4 handed i raised K4 bb called i missed flop. GUY had no clue about the bonus was just confused that the hand was stalled before it started he mucked flop and i took in like 3200 with K high. Since then -90k on stars. Doesn't there have to be a rake to get points?

I meant the benefit of the celebration itself, not the organized folding.
