I watched Dario on ESPN feature table the other night (so I'm an expert obv). He's hyper aggressive and will constantly put pressure on his opponents. On one hand, he calls a flop bet with 78 on a QQ9 flop, then raises all in on a 7 turn. You gotta understand that his image is absolutely nutso.

For this hand, the presence of the flush draw combined with dario's image made Genius lean towards a call. Its thin without a doubt, because Genius is probably behind to two overcards and a flush draw, but, he's got some pot odds.

It's not a misclick though...

this is far from a misclick. My guess is Genius put Dario on a f draw and felt compelled to make the call. From what i remember from my matches with Dario the kid bets his draws agressively. Wsop broadcast being another great example.

Dario owns.

Very interesting hand Primodial. I'm really surprised at this call. Genius is getting well worse than 2:1 (1.7:1), and he's drawing to a 2-outer against any higher pair, and is still an underdog to almost any flush draw (all except those containing the 2h or 4h, which are less likely anyway.) So he would have to place a very high weight on the draw, and even then it's super-thin. Perhaps meta-concerns came into play, and Genius felt a looser image would have a +EV component that compensated for an extremely marginal call.

If dario does this w/ A5 there's no reason he won't do it with air. Reasonably, without metagame, does A5 really expect to get called by anything worse?

I don't think the call is that bad. Pot odds aren't that important in this hand. The mere fact that dario 1.called pf w/ A5, and 2.pushed the flop, make for a case that he will also push air here a certain % of the time.

I'm not saying I would make this call without some crazy metagame read. It's not as bad as you guys think though.

Ummm, im also not so sure that a shove w/ A5 will also be a similar shove with air a large percentage of the time, especially shoving 1k more into like a 560 pot or something. A5, especially with an image like his, is going to get called by alot of weaker hands, even way weaker than I would have ever expect (44) obv, so I'm not so sure I agree with that, and I mean from his part, if people are willing to call him down cause he is so crazy, it allows him to get himself into very good spots like this.

edit: Well... this is what I thought, up until 2 minutes ago when I saw this hand play out and now I just think he's retarded ;p. LOL, jk, but seriously, can anyone show me how this push can be good for ANYTHING but meta?
