Give Villain a FD and some random Qs like QT in his range.

A set is basically the best hand u could have here, he might try to take u off an overpair, but i would almost never fold this cuz people do such retarded stuff.
Unless i have a crazy read, i call.

Folding is exploitable, annoying, and invites the "so, what, we fold small flushes here too?" question. Vs. unknowns, it's also right, because they just don't bluff CR the river.

that said, this *could* be a smaller set sometimes vs. a bad player (or even just a decent player who knows your UTG range there has exactly one likely flush in it) so watch out for this.

adanthar smaller flushdraws we can call with because he could have 68 8J and JK.

yeaaaaahh kinda sorta I guess, but flushes have like 873% more combos.

okay, forgetting 54s, do we fold J8? KJ? I mean, I think I made it clear we probably should vs. a random, but does anyone actually do that?

To any of the people saying call....

I'd love to see a single hand history where a noname in a 50$rebuy+100$freezeout on stars check raised the river as a bluff after the turn went c/c.

I don't think one exists.

The river is a clear b/f, although myself and many others love to take the b/c/berate line. the only problem is they never show up with a bluff here, ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agree it's never a bluff, but I do happen to think it is occasionally a smaller set, albeit pretty rarely. But we don't need to be right that often to call here.

I just exploded out of my chair about checking behind on the river. For the love of God don't. Bet and get value. Don't be results oriented.

Here I think you have to fold given the flush and the straight is out there.

This river checkraise is an almost set in stone monster from these types of players.
