stupid question
If you are looking for higher EV in a Vanguard fund, what is better, growth or value funds? Blend I assume is in the middle, but I can't figure out which one is the +EV/high risk and which is the lower risk one but lower earn. Thanks

Re: stupid question
Value.
Historically value stocks have had higher returns and also higher volatility. It's a weird naming system because to the average person, growth sounds like it's going to grow faster. Also, it's a bit strange because growth and value aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, and there are also different ways to measure growth and value. |

Re: stupid question
Growth is a misnomer because of the way the indexes are defined. Growth essentially means "High Priced", whereas Value means "Low Priced". If they called Growth "High Priced" instead, no one would buy the funds.
Value is higher return. |
