Interesting Blackjack misdeal
I was playing blackjack at the Borgata this Sunday.
I was sitting at a table with 5 people and I was at 3rd base. The dealer dealt all the first cards and I got an A. When he went to deal the second cards he skipped the lady to my right and gave me her Q for a blackjack. The pitboss was behind him and they kept the queen on my hand instead of moving it to the 2nd base hand. Is this the correct ruling. If the dealer misdeals it stays where it lands?? |

Re: Interesting Blackjack misdeal
I dunno, but another similar story:
my friend was in the 4 seat with a 13 vs a ten up - the lady to his right requested a hit and tapped her hand on the table, but instead put a 7 on my friend's hand the pit boss was called and my friend was told he could choose between taking the card or it being given to her she had a 14 lol and he kept it - she was pretty pissed off after she busted it was only $5/hand so whatever... |

[/ QUOTE ] In Connecticut the rule is once it leaves the dealers hand it is left alone. So you would have kept the BJ. For example say you were at 1st base and your first card was an A then as the dealer is dealing the 2nd card he accidently skips your hand but gives the 2nd seat a 10. They wouldnt have backed that card up and given it to you. The dealer would continue to deal and then give you the last card b4 anyone starts to take action. If you were not happy with the card the floor would have let you back out of the hand. Basically 9 out 10 times if the dealer screws up (whether it helps you or not) you will be given the option of backing out of the hand if youre not happy with it. If the player is a jerk or trying to pull a fast one on the dealer he/she will not get their $ back. |

Why? To keep customers happy and keep their business. That one hand matters little in the face of the thousands more they can expect to deal you if you remain a satisfied customer. |

Re: Interesting Blackjack misdeal
Here's one from Reno.
About five years ago, playing 25 bucks a hand at blackjack, Sitting on third base. Cards are dealt, I got like a hard 14. Guy at first base has 16 or something like that. Dealer has a 10 showing, but before anyone hits, this casino suit walks up and tells the table that the guy in seat one is a known counter. So he kills the guys hand. Gives him his 100 bet back and that's it. I said, "Well that messes up how my hand would have gone." So he tells the table that anyone who wants to can take back their bet, which we all do. You'd think they would have waited for the hand to finish, but they didn't. Thanks, Peppermill. |

Re: Interesting Blackjack misdeal
My favorite misdeal was when I was playing last position and the dealer didn't ask if I wanted to hit or stand but instead showed his other card and ended up having 18.
I was immediately like whoa I have 14 and you didn't let me hit. The pit boss came over and said I could hit. I hit once, 3, now I had 17. I was like, can I hit again? The pitboss said yes. 4! I had 21. Ownage. |
