Re: Best Online Broker?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] zecco has $0 trades which is nice [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure slippage on a site that has $0 commission will be terrible. I'd stick with a well known online broker that is cheap. Like Ameritrade, Ameritrade Izone, Schwab, or Scottrade. [/ QUOTE ] Slippage? Everything on small orders is electronic now. I doubt there would be any noticeable slippage difference from any other decent broker. [/ QUOTE ] You don't trade much, do you? [/ QUOTE ] Nah, with the big drop in volatility I'm down to 800 or 900 trades a year. [ QUOTE ] SOES works well on the NASDAQ, but, even with regulation NMS inacted, NYSE fills still blow. AMEX fills are the most disgusting on a regular basis because of all the floor regulation and order selling. [/ QUOTE ] SOES? I haven't heard it called that in years. I think SOES is defunct. NASDAQ is pretty much all one market now. NYSE, I use ARCA and Island, which cheapo brokers do also unless you're buying 10,000 shares at a clip. AMEX fills suck because the specialists are crooks. They somehow arranged it so that even ARCA orders go through them. Simple solution is to just avoid AMEX - most of it is crap anyway. [ QUOTE ] If you plan to only place limit orders then most of this doesn't matter. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know why you wouldn't unless you're doing buy on open which all get filled at the same price anyway. |
