Re: What is the most ethical way to commit suicide?
[ QUOTE ]
"O'Neill has ridiculed those who wish to take action to reduce carbon emissions in order to tackle global warming." Says it all. [/ QUOTE ] And what exactly does that say? How about a translation. |

I posted the link without doing any research, thus taking his comments/advice literally and failed to recognise the article for what it is... Which is parody. |

Re: What is the most ethical way to commit suicide?
Oddly enough, the vehicular homicide incident I was referring to happened several years ago here in Scottsdale, not the Chicago model that some of you are alluding to. I can't find it on Google either but it could have been 10+ years ago. It was told to me by someone from their PD so the source is pretty reliable. Not that it's likely someone would make that up anyway...

[/ QUOTE ] translation: O'Neill thinks SCIENCE = BAD, which means he's probably retarded [/ QUOTE ] How much global warming is occurring and how much is being caused by man as opposed to the earth's natural climate cycles is an open debate. Even then, the economics of reducing carbon emissions are questionable. It may cost tens or hundreds of billions to significantly reduce carbon emissions, and we don't really have a good idea of what effect that will have, if any. Is it worth taking a hit to GDP so we can reduce carbon by 5% in the atmosphere? No one knows, but the avid carbon-reduction crowd doesn't care. Just because we can do something doesn't mean it's a good idea. /end politics rant |
