Whether Damon caught it himself or flung it back, it matters not what he touches out of play AFTER he touches the ball. A ball can be caught as long as a player is in play, or jumps from in play, makes contact with the ball, and then makes a legal catch. So climb the fence, jump off the top, touch the ball, land in the bullpen, and catch the ball. Batter out.
