Hardcore for life. The few times I lost my char due to lag were frustrating, but it was well worth it. The extra thrill that playing hc gives at certain points is comparable with playing way above ur roll and getting it in as a bluff. I remember a friend of mine wanting to duel my merc for fun with his lvl 80+ very well equiped Druid. The moment the duel started he lost his werewolf shape and got killed by 1 hit. That was just hilarious/sick.

man d2 was awesome. had a 99 barb and then discovered the fun and ridiculous ownage sorcs could do and 99d one. although i am guilty of pindlebotting. 500 meph runs a night mmm mmm. memories a bit hazy but i had the bugged orb, totals were something like 750 mf and +14 skills. my firewall did like 11 or 12k dmg. i still have it in my head...static a couple times (1/3 the enemies health) then just rape nova blast/fw. too easy. this thread actually pisses me off because i stopped playing for a couple weeks, went on vaca, came back and my [censored] chars were deleted. i could of sold my account for easily 500+. had two 99s and like 5 completely full chars of top items/hundreds of soj's. great game. recently got into wow for a bit (in spurts) and i definitely think d2 > wow

It seems that alot of people played up until 1.09 and no one really played 1.11. Was I just that kid that kept playing and it became uncool? I loved 1.11 and would prolly pop D2 back in if they made a 1.12.

I had to force myself to stop playing this one, and in fact I don't even know where my CD is anymore. The patch where they added the ubers almost cost me my education and my girlfriend. But after days of key runs I managed to put together a pally capable of soloing the ubers and got the charm. And no, it wasn't worth it.

Hardcore dueling was the [censored] before the duping/mh got out of hand. Think that was around the beginning of .09 or end of .08, dont really remember though.
Sitting in games waiting for guys to come and try to kill the newbies was fun too [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
