Default J9o in APPT Steps step 3

This is one of those Steps thingoes. Top two go through to Step 4, 3 to 5 try this step again.

Villain is a fishy, has called a lot of raises. Not too aggro though. I expect to be behind here but I think I'm priced in against most things.

Right or wrong?

Obv can't fold after you raise, so you're priced in against quite a few ranges, you're correct.

Fine play/standard IMO.

sry i was rude. i would open with something that i would be pleased to get it in with vs the BB. somewhere in between 15-20% i guess, obviously that range widens as the blinds stacks increase and your read is that they dont call as wide.

So you wouldn't open anything for a raise? You'd just shove? I'm genuinely curious because I feel I get a bit left behind at this blind level, and I want to steal blinds.

I wasn't happy exactly to get it in, but I felt the risk of it was worth it, because he had few enough chips to price me in unless he had a really big hand. But if I'm wrong, I'd like to find out why!

I think the blind steal / raise is perfectly fine here. The only problem is usually in a higher end steps like this, usually when the BB or SB play back at you they either have something or are hard core bluffing. Once you open and get minraised, I don't think you can get away from it. Even if he turns over AK or KK/AA, you've got straight possibilities, two pair, sets, list goes on and on to crack. I think it's a fine play. As mentioned above, J9 isn't always the BEST hand to steal the blinds with, but it is certainly not the worst I've seen to try to do so.
