I'm in a very large $50 pool with over 300 entries. Here is the breakdown for week 1 in my pool.

Sea 110
Pit 41
Dal 35
Jac 29
Ind 28
NE 19
SD 14
Was 7
Hou 5
Min 5
Phi 5
SF 4
Den 2
Stl 2
Det 1
Oak 1

14 people didn't make their pick in time and were given Indy as a default. I took Jax.

Wow, 41 people like a 4.5-point road fave. I guess it's mostly "Browns suck LOL" money.

Everyone I talked to is taking Sea in my pool therefore I'm taking Jax and rooting hard for TB.

My other advice would be to not save teams for later use (usually you can only pick teams once in a season); better to win now and let others knock themselves out by holding Indy and picking longshot teams.

Good week 1 picks might include PIT (@ CLE, my pick for week 1), SEA (vs TB), and... that might be it in my opinion. If you're like me and see the Titans as generally awful headed by a Madden cursed QB, JAX (vs TEN) might be a good pick as well. Good luck!

This is super solid and all you really need for week 1.

I like PIT though in Survivor Pools, I usually try to take a home team.

yep, this is right on. seattle is the sexy/popular pick for this week, so you take jax to get separation. plus they are bigger favorites, which is gravy.

we only have 10 guys in my pool so separation isn't all that important.
7 guys have seattle, and then 1 with Indy, Houston, and Oakland.

Had I known everyone was on Seattle, I may have gone with PIT, but I didn't know before I made my pick, and as I say, separation not too important in a 10 person pool.

1 and out for me. I was worried when the line steamed up to 8 this morning. Oh well, there's always next year. When does hockey start?
