They Left Me to Die?!?
Okay, so I am on vacation in he Caribbean with the wife and the step kids. Everything is fun but I am more than a little sick (the usual diarhhea and dehydration thing - no biggie.) We take a walk up the beach and ten minutes away we rent kayaks and go kayaking in the ocean
Not much fun, by the way but some exercise. We get back and when I go to get out of the kayak, I get very woozy and nearly pass out. I suppose the combination of the dehydration and the sun and exertion - who knows. Anyway, the wife and kids are like "what's the matter?" and it's all I can do to keep from passing out. Leave me alone I tell them, maybe more than once, just leave me alone. I literally couldn't get a breath. I crawled to a bench and collapsed and some beach guy brought me a hose and poured water on me. I noticed the wife and kids had gone to the rental place and I assumed they were getting me cold water or some ice or something. Soon, I am able to crawl to a chaise lounge and semi pass out for like fifteen minutes. About then, I sit up and feel strong enough to look around -no fam to be seen. I don't want them to worry so I wait for them to bring me some sort of help. Another five mins and I realize they are not coming. I get up and stumble back to our spot on the beach and say to my wife, "You left me to die?" and her reply is, "you've got to be kidding! You said to leave you alone. hahaha, I said leave me alone, not leave me to strangers in a medical emergency. Anyway, we are so far apart on this that we need some input. Should I be pissed that they left me on the hot beach, with total strangers in a near state of unconsciousness? Or are they correct and since I said to leave me alone, should they have, in fact, left me? I'm kinda scared one day that I will have a really serious problem like a stroke and while I am trying to catch my breath and say just leave me alone, that I will end up literally alone and scooped up in an ambulance. Weigh in, please? |

Re: They Left Me to Die?!?
Next time, ask for help instead of pushing it away.

Wow KKF, I don't know how you have the patience to create a new e-mail account for every new bogus username and thread you start. Seems exhausting.

Re: They Left Me to Die?!?
When you're sick, don't go kayaking in the ocean.

[ QUOTE ]
hahaha, I said leave me alone, not leave me to strangers in a medical emergency [/ QUOTE ] Um, how do they know it's a "medical emergency" when you freaking told them to leave you alone They may have left you to die, but only because you told them to. In the future, if you don't want to die, don't be an idiot. Cliff notes: the proper phrase was "help!" not "leave me alone" |

Re: They Left Me to Die?!?
Kind of depends how old you are and what your medical history is. If you're a healthy 32, fine... if you're 57 with high blood pressure, their behaviour kind of sucks.
