PETITION: SportsCenter Producers Should Be Fired NOW!!!
Last night, I walked into the local after hours bar. I said me hello's, greeted the greatest staff in Chicago, and I received my beverage.
I looked up at the big screen to see that on SportsCenter was a segment on Michael Vick accusation of him holding dog fights. I've been a huge Mike Vick fan for years because I've viewed him as a man who understands the extents of his strengths and weaknesses always trying to utilizes his greatness while going outside of his box on a 'need to' basis. But, this is sick. It's inhumane to anyone with half a soul and it hurts to see another idol at me age of 24 crash down with Barry Bonds' steroids, Michael Jordan's illegitimate children, and Jeremy Roenick's 'lack of mouth control.' ESPN followed this story up with a segment that showed dogs: aggressively approaching each other, confronting each other, fighting each other, and taking each other's lives. ESPN did not hold back to show the reality by displaying on national television, the audio PLUS visual images of these dogs killing each other by ripping each other's throats out with their teeth. Yes, this was on TV for the world to see and it made a lot of people cry. I was choked up, as I've been for ESPN's other exploitative segments of children with fatal illnesses and such, but they crossed the line here with the graphic detail of how these dogs end the lives of each other. Vote 'Yes' for SportsCenter's producers to be fired. This petition will be emailed to ESPN's executives. ESPN's exploitation to create drama has gone too far. Make your voice known and make it known now! ******This thread is not about Mike Vick. He is for other threads. This petition is to show that the ESPN audience refuses to have our hearts insulted with such vile imagery, like we'll just accept it. No disclaimer can prepare a human being for what we saw last night.******* |

Re: PETITION: SportsCenter Producers Should Be Fired NOW!!!
I watched the segment and they gave a warning before showing it. Why would you chastise them for merely showing it when there is a far worse injustice being purpotrated in the first place? This is documentary reporting... I aplogize if I seem rough, however this is what I believe.

Re: PETITION: SportsCenter Producers Should Be Fired NOW!!!
Showing mammals ripping each other's throats out with their teeth should not be on national television. This isn't a boob or vulgar language out of someone's mouth. This is life ending in ways more brutal that we can imagine.

Re: PETITION: SportsCenter Producers Should Be Fired NOW!!!
Does indeed seem stupid that this is allowed in a country massively censored in other areas.
