Default Peppermill Fall Poker Tournament

Starts up tomorrow. I played a few of the Spring Poker Tournament events and those had a really nice structure and were well-run. Not sure how good of a turnout there will be, but the Grand Sierra Resort Pot of Gold last month drew between 100-250 people for most of the events so it will be probably be similar to that.

I played in the $225 tonight. Went out around 45th. 187 entered and 21 were paid.

Probably try to catch a couple more tomorrow and Sunday.

I played in it too, ended up busting in 5th place for about $1.9k. I like how the structure allows for decent amount of play early on, but towards the end it way to shallow. I think the avg stack coming into to final table was about 9bb's or something like that. Might have been because of the 20 min levels, I hope the noon tourneys have longer levels. Not going to play the noon $330 tomorrow, going to watch the Gator game, but I'm probably going to be here for the duration of the tournament so I'll be playing in the majority of them. If you run into a swedish kid at one of your tables that's probably me. My name is Andy.

Oh and if/when I bust, I'll be spending some time in the 20-40 game.

I'm playing the noon today so we're free for dinner tonight. (I'm in town to meet up with some girlfriends from high school.) Probably not too hard to spot me as a woman, long brown hair, furiously chewing Nicorette. If you think it's me, throw a 'Sup Bro" my way. Not sure what I'll play on Sunday.

From what I heard, levels today are supposed to be 30 minutes, instead of the twenty last night.

Oh, and congrats on 5th!

8th today in the noon tournament. I suck at the mechanics of live poker, but I had a blast anyway. I suppose you have to learn sometime.

I'll be playing this event this coming Fri/Sat. How are the dual events working out? I'm assuming the 7pm event starts around the time the bubble or FT hit? Or, is the noon event finished by the time the 7pm event begins.

Also, how are the side games beyond the normal fare at the peppermill? Are they spreading more, or different games?

They seem to be getting down to the last two or three tables from the noon event when the 7 PM starts.

I'm from out of town, so don't know how side games are normally. I also only played cash for an hour or two. Seemed like they had a lot of games going, and at least one table NL that was high stakes.

Nice job. I went out drinking Saturday night and wasn't feeling to good Sunday so I took the day off, but rebounded in full effect on Monday by taking down the $225 noon tourney. Did a chip-count chop HU, w/ me getting $5.6k and the other kid $5k, and then we played it out for the trophy (awww yeaah) and $400 we set aside just to make it somewhat interesting. Took it down after winning a big pot w/ JJ>AQ.

NL games they've had going is 1-2 and 3-5 I think. They had an interest list for a 5-10 game but not sure if they've had that game running at all. Limit games range from 2/4 to 20/40 and the 20/40 has been running every day.

You playing the $1000+60 on Sunday? I'll probably be wearing some University of Florida (Gators) apparel, if you see me come and say what's up.

I was only in town last weekend to meet up with some old friends. I came home on Monday. Good luck in the 1K!

The HORSE event had about 150 entrants or so. Remarkable for a 7 PM $100 +$20 tourney. 2000 chips and no antes until the first stud 8 round. I made it to the second "E" but by then the limits were 800-1600 and the average stack was about 4 bets. Silly really.

Crazy pineapple tomorrow if i get there, but am planning on playing the main event on sunday.
